May 31, 2021
Get to know one of our 3rd Edition artists!

Everyone's excited about the 3rd Edition, and one of the things we're looking forward to is the art we're using for the #KOGs. We want to capture different art styles and themes that will appeal to a bigger audience.
3rd Edition Art Director Chester Ocampo is on top of this, and he's built a team of skilled artists to bring everything together. Let's get to know one of the artists working on the art for the 3rd Edition.
What’s your name?
Carlos San Jose
Where are you from?
Manila, Philippines
What theme are you working on (in 3rd Edition KOGs)?
Black and white tattoo graphics
How did you start in digital art?
I wanted to create silkscreen work at first, for prints and merchandise, art that is reproduced easily so that more people would have access to it. Screens cost a bit of money and to create, so I developed a style that would just use one screen but something detailed enough to convince people to buy the work.
I learned Photoshop because my inking was no good, then Illustrator, which really elevated my work.
Describe your art style in one word.
Intricate.
What do you think are the most important characteristics of your art?
Detailed, subject-focused, balanced.
What's it like working on KOGs?
It's an exciting, new medium to introduce my art style to a new audience. Hope to get the opportunity to work on it again.
Where can we see your other works?
I regularly update my Behance profile.
